Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need an interpreter at the notary signing?
If you do not speak Italian fluently, professional interpretation is required by law and ensures that you understand the deed you are signing and its implications.
Can I complete a purchase without being present?
Yes. Many international clients purchase property remotely using a power of attorney. I can translate and explain the relevant documentation so you understand exactly what you are authorising.
What is the difference between the preliminary contract and the final deed?
The preliminary contract (compromesso) is legally binding and sets out the essential terms of the transaction. The final deed (atto di compravendita) is signed before a notary and formally transfers ownership.
Do you liaise with my lawyer or estate agent?
Yes. I regularly liaise with lawyers, notaries and estate agents to ensure clarity and consistency of language where required.
